Our pint-sized power performer StarMax 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain and Tripod Bundle will provide you and your family with pleasing, high-power views of the heavens whether there's a sturdy table nearby or not!
This complete telescope bundle includes everything that normally comes with our popular StarMax 90mm TableTop Mak-Cass telescope, plus a very powerful 6.3mm eyepiece and a sturdy field tripod. This ultra-compact Mak-Cass gives surprisingly big views for an instrument of its modest size, making it an elegant first telescope or a great grab-and-go second telescope!
The long, 1250mm (f/13.8) focal length gives the StarMax 90 TableTop some serious magnifying power so you can enjoy high-resolution, close-up views of the planets, Moon and many brighter deep-sky objects. The 90mm aperture Maksutov-Cassegrain collects over 25% more light than its GoScope 80 refractor cousin, and up to 225% more light than a 60mm refractor telescope. So you'll be able to enjoy bigger, brighter views of planetary delights such as Saturn's rings and Jupiter's moons, not to mention gorgeous high-power views of the Moon's interesting crater fields, valleys and mountain ranges.
Following a simple alignment procedure that parents can help with, you can use the EZ Finder II sight to accurately aim the StarMax 90mm TableTop Mak-Cass telescope at objects in the sky like the Moon and bright planets. Once aligned with the telescope, just turn on the EZ Finder II and peer through the sight's small circular viewing window so you see the red dot, and move the telescope until the red dot is on the object you want to see to place it in the telescope's field of view.
The included 25mm eyepiece provides a 50-power view in the StarMax 90mm Mak-Cass. The 25mm is a great eyepiece to use first when you stargaze with the telescope each night, since it provides a larger, less magnified window of night sky for you to view. This lower magnification makes it easy to find objects to explore in the night sky.
After you've scanned the skies with the 25mm eyepiece in the StarMax 90mm telescope, take a closer look at interesting objects by swapping out the 25mm with 10mm eyepiece to boost magnification from 50x all the way up to 125x. The more powerful view in the 10mm focal length eyepiece reveals details such as craters and mountains on the Moon, the rings of Saturn, and brighter moons of Jupiter.
The value-packed Orion StarMax 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain and Tripod Bundle also includes a 6.3mm Orion E-Series eyepiece, which provides a very powerful, 198x view in the 1250mm focal length 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope. Use this extremely high-power ocular to go after high-magnification views of lunar crater details, bright planets, star clusters, and more.
A diagonal "bends" the light path of a telescope so you can enjoy the view without having to contort yourself into awkward positions to peer into the eyepiece. The 90° star diagonal that comes with the StarMax 90mm TableTop Telescope Bundle places the eyepiece you're using in a comfortable position for nighttime stargazing of the skies above.
This value-packed bundle includes a handy field tripod, which is adjustable with a height range of 20" to 34.5" so you can position the StarMax 90mm Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope comfortably for viewing without a table. The tripod also features an extendable elevator column for crowd-pleasing performance.
This compact, yet satisfyingly capable, Maksutov-Cassegrain telescope weighs 9.25 lbs. assembled (including tripod, diagonal, eyepiece and finder).

Beginner Level - Suited for a wide range of uses, these products are simple to operate and set up. Some initial assembly may be required depending on the type of product. Optical instruments with this rating will have very good optical and mechanical quality. Great for families, young people, and folks who don't want to mess with equipment and complexity. Beginning level telescopes will show you countless lunar craters, Saturn's rings and a myriad of star clusters and nebulae! Referring to the manual is recommended.
Intermediate Level - These products offer higher performance and more advanced features than Level 1: Beginner models. They typically take a bit longer to learn and need some set-up or adjustments. But anyone with the slightest technical bent will have no problem getting familiar with these models. Referring to the manual is recommended.
Advanced Level - These products provide the best performance but may require more skill to master and appreciate. Optical instruments with this rating have exceptionally fine optics and mechanics. Some are easy to use but might be on the large or heavy side. Some are intended for specialized uses. These products will appeal to the more technically inclined. Referring to the manual is highly recommended.
For telescopes, the optical diameter (also known as aperture) is the size of a telescope's main light-collecting lens or primary mirror, measured in millimeters or inches. Telescopes with larger optical diameters collect more light, which leads to an increase in brightness and image resolution compared to smaller instruments.
For binoculars, the optical diameter (also known as objective lens diameter) is the size of each of the front-facing objective lenses of a binocular measured in millimeters. Binoculars with larger objective lenses collect more light, which increases image resolution and brightness. Binoculars with larger objective lenses are recommended for low light situations, and binoculars with at least 50mm or larger objective lenses are recommended for pleasing astronomical observations at night.
