Speed up the cooling of your big reflector telescope's optics to ambient temperature with this small, quiet Orion Cooling Accelerator Fan for Large Reflector Telescopes. Cooling a big reflector's optics helps to improve the quality of your observations though the telescope. If the air inside the optical tube of your reflector telescope is warmer than the air outside, air currents can cause your views to be unstable and to appear "shaky" as warm and cool air mix.

The Orion Cooling Accelerator Fan for Large Reflector Telescopes attaches to pretapped and threaded holes in the mirror cells of many Orion Dobsonian reflector telescopes, including SkyQuest XT8, XT10, and XT12 Classic Dobsonian telescopes; XT8i, XT10i, and XT12i IntelliScope Dobsonians; XX12i and XX14i Truss Tube IntelliScope Dobsonians; and the XT12g GoTo Truss Tube Dobsonian reflector. It also fits mounted reflectors including the Orion Atlas 8, Atlas 10, SkyView Pro 8 Newtonian telescopes, and the 190mm Mak-Newt Astrograph. Mounting screws are supplied.

The fan runs on 12 volt DC power supplied by the included battery pack, which uses eight D-cell batteries (not included). Battery life is about 13-14 hours of continuous operation. You can also power the Cooling Accelerator Fan with a portable 12-volt field battery with a DC power cable, such as an Orion Dynamo Pro (sold separately).
