Notice I said "for the price". This is not a Vortex or a Manfrotto. However, if you are on a budget and want a good starter tripod, don't be afraid to purchase. The plastic parts are thin IMO and the jury is still out on how they will hold up especially in very cold weather. I use mine for glassing almost exclusively. Binos are fine but I would stop short of the big 80mm HD spotting scope.

A: The team real tree outfit is this tripod with a 15-45x60 spotting scope in camo. The specs are Maximum Height - 62.5 inches Minimum Height - 20.5 inches Closed Length - 22 inches Maximum Load Capacity - 11 lbs it uses a flip lever lock for the tripod legs.
Q2: Is the head easily removable?
A: Yes. You would have to remove two screws and then the head on this tripod can screw off of the legs.

A: This tripod is 4lbs.
