A useful item

I bought this to use with 8X56 binoculars. Works great for that, but I mostly use it as a stable platform for my digital camera.

I bought the tripod based on price. The unit extends to a nice height that allows upward binocular motion without having to stoop. This is good for looking up to the stars. However, it is extremely lightweight and was not meant for this purpose. Not stable enough for higher magnification. But also its lightweight is a big plus when "something " is needed fr binocular use without carrying bulkier gear..

Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

This is not a bad tripod for the price. It's not quite suitable for Astronomy unless on a tight budget. The legs are aluminum, but the top section is plastic. For Astronomy, I recommend spending more money and getting something a little sturdier.

    Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

This was my first experience with hayneedle. The Zhumell Lightweight Tripod was the perfect purchase. My wife and I have a digital camera and a rather large set of binoculars. The tripod works beautifully with either of them. The price is great compared to the quality of the tripod.
It is very easy to use in relation to setting it up for standing or sitting. The quick release works easily. I have no complaints.

      Comments about Zhumell Lightweight Tripod:

This is part of the 15x70 binocular package. Great altazimuth movements. The lock handle is super. It holds the binoculars with ease. As advertised it is lightweight and this is a huge plus for portability. Additionally there is a center hook for hanging a weight for extra stability. I use a 2 1/2 lb weight and this works very well. The price is fantastic.
