I tested this scope by viewing the moon. There was a lot of ghosting in this scope. I traced the problem to the end cap by the eyepiece which internal to the telescope was a shiny brass curved surface! No tools are needed to unscrew the focus mechanism from the end cap and the end cap from the tube. A bit of sanding, and some black chalkboard paint helped a lot. I went further and added some sticky back flocked paper I had for telescope tube lining. If your scope has an annoying ghost image, it is a quick and easy fix.

Attractive Telescope

Pro - Very attractive. Con - Tripod is poorly designed. The tension screws do not hold well and the legs want to collapse.

Comments about Zhumell Commodore Brass Telescope:

This telescope is a beautiful piece! It's quite large so it needs a large space, but it's so beautiful that it will be sure to be the focal point in any setting.

Comments about Zhumell Commodore Brass Telescope:

Because the lens in an achromat it is good that it is a long focal length refractor. The specifications provided are not correct, and even the math is wrong 1000mm f12.5 indicates this is a 80mm objective (not 70). The manual has the specs for another scope. The tripod legs, and alt/az mount are adequate. The scope is beautiful to look at, just wish it had interchangeable eyepieces.
