    This was my first telescope,The finder scope is not very easy to use, which caused most of the problems.
    Found it easy enough to setup, but took a while (1/2 hr) to align for the tracker to work,Once setup though, it was easy to find objects,Etc but okay as a beginner's telescope

        I would have appreciated a bit sturdier mount. I traded a 114EQ in for the 114LCM. No comparison as far as mounts. I intend to use this scope for astrophotography and am a bit anxious about the stability. None-the-less, the "GoTo" capability, the ability to control the scope from my laptop, portability, and low profile are all a plus. Will definitely enjoy this, regardless.

        This was my first telescope. Found it easy enough to setup, but took a while (1 hr) to align for the tracker to work. The finder scope is not very easy to use, which caused most of the problems. The controller and keypad also requires a bit of practice. For instance it's easy to hit a wrong key and mess up 15 minutes of alignment work.

        Once setup though, it was easy to find objects such as Saturn. The setup is not very rigid, so every time you focus or even touch anything, the whole thing shakes. Definitely not for astrophotography, but okay as a beginner's telescope.

        Image quality seemed okay, but I don't have much experience with other scopes as comparison.

        Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
