You actually don't have to know the location of two reference stars to calibrate your telescope. There is an alternate way to calibrate if you are not already knowledgable in astonomy. The "Go To" feature walks you through the calibration by inputting the time and area of where you live. The computer then calibrates the telescope automatically. After that you have drop down menus to view, stars, planets, galaxies, etc. The computer will also give you a voice description of the object you are viewing. Although this telescope is not the best, for the money, a beginner such as myself can't go wrong with this as a first telescope. After mastering this one, I will indeed purchase a better Bushnell. Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Telescope is cheaply made. After about the fifth time using it the tripod broke, and I had to take it apart to fix it. The two screws that hold the tube to the mount are always coming loose and have to be retightened, and the mount is just plain sloppy. Save your money and buy a better name brand telescope

I purchased this particular telescope because I am new to astronomy and have no prior experience working with a telescope. In order to use the computer contained in the telescope, you need to calibrate the computer by finding two reference stars. Due to my inexperience, I have not been able to calibrate or use the computer. We have only used the telescope occasionally for random viewing. In my opinion, this telescope is of little help to the beginner.

Q1: Can you ship to Norway?
A: Absolutely!
Q2: I have the Bushnell Deep Space 525x3" model 78-9003 telescope. Can the mount and tripod of the "525x3 Inch with Real Voice Output" be adapted to my telescope?
A: You will need to contact Bushnell at 800-423-3537 for that answer. Most companies will set-up the scopes they make specifically for the computerized mounts. They would definitely be able to answer that for you.
Q3: What if any, is the difference between Models # 78-8831 & #78-8830?
A: The difference is that the 78-8830 is the first version of this scope that bushnell released. after making some minor but neccessary changes they re-released it with the new model number. The 78-8830 is not available only the 78-8831
Q4: Is there a carring case for the Bushnell "Goto 525x3 Inch with Real Voice Output"?
A: i am sorry but bushnell does not currently make a carrying case for this scope nor are there any aftermarket brands that i know of. My suggestion is to purchase a large duffel bag and line it with eggshell cushions as it is a very cost effective easy to carry case.
