Don't hunt stars without it!

If you're searching for a TELRAD sight for your telescope, it must be because you either had one before or tried one at a local star party. If you just tried one, you probably said to yourself, "I've just got to get one of these."

This is what happened to us at Telescopes.com. We tried a telescope equipped with TELRAD's amazing instrument and said to ourselves, "Our customers really need this." Then we quickly installed TELRAD sights on our own scopes.

The TELRAD Reflex Sight is the best-selling non-magnifying star finder for celestial telescopes. Many astronomers simply will not own a telescope without one. Certainly any Dobsonian telescope owner should consider the TELRAD finder a "must-have" accessory, as it makes quick, easy work of locating and finding objects in the night sky.

How it works

The TELRAD projects three red rings spaced at 4 degrees, 2 degrees, and 1/2 degree in diameter. These rings are used to "starhop" to objects. If, for example, a galaxy is 10 degrees south of a star, you simply count two 4-degree jumps and one 2-degree jump, and you're there!

The TELRAD is a super-comfortable finder to use, because you don't need to look "into" it as you do a conventional finder. The projected, red circles are clearly visible if you're looking 2 inches behind the sight or 2 feet behind it. And because the sight doesn't magnify, you get the widest-possible field of view, making locating and centering alignment stars on GO-TO telescopes a breeze. Even better, your view is correctly oriented, so what you see will match what's shown on the star charts!

Easy Mounting

Connecting the TELRAD to your telescope is very simple. The included base can be permanently mounted with screws or with the included double-sided tape. Either way, mounting is an easy task.

The 8x1.75-inch TELRAD reflex star finder sight uses two AA batteries for powering the illuminated rings. It's best used on large-aperture telescopes with bigger optical tubes. Small wonder the TELRAD reflex sight is a must-have for Dobsonian telescope and SCT owners.
