Using these technical features, the ETX-90PE automatically levels itself, points North, and sets the time. You just enter your location or zip code. In a short time, your ETX will complete its patented, Level North, automatic-alignment procedure, and point to its first alignment star. Then, just use the new, wide-field Smart Finder to center the red dot over each of the alignment stars for ultra-precise pointing accuracy. And that's it -- alignment made ultra-easy. It's virtually fool-proof!

It gets even better, too! Don't know just what you want to see on an evening? Go to the "Tonight's Best" tour in your AutoStar controller. It automatically selects the best objects in the sky for any particular season, time, and location from a built-in database of over 30,000 celestial objects. Then it puts them in the eyepiece for you to view. All you need is a clear night, a dark sky, and a little curiosity. Maksutov-Cassegrain optics

The Meade ETX-90PE offers top-quality optics to back up its easy-use features. Serious astronomers for years have flocked to the Meade ETX-90 for its observatory-quality Maksutov-Cassegrain optical system. Its diffraction-limited optics are so bright and crisp in contrast and image resolution that the ETX-90PE consistently out-performs telescopes of larger aperture. ETX-90PE telescopes feature BK-7 glass and oversize Pyrex primary mirrors, and the entire optical system is manufactured at Meade's state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Irvine, California.

Ultra-High Transmission Coatings

As if that isn't quality enough, the ETX-90PE's optics are enhanced by Meade UHTC, a series of exotic optical coatings precisely tuned to optimize the visual, photographic and CCD-imaging performance of the ETX telescope. Image brightness is increased by nearly 15% over that offered by standard Meade optical coatings. This means that stars, galaxies, and nebulae observed through your ETX-90PE will be dramatically brighter. Even observations of the Moon and planets will benefit from UHTC's increased image brightness across the full light spectrum.
