Nikon is pleased to announce two exciting new Fieldscope models - the ED50 and ED50 A. Remarkably compact and lightweight, these Fieldscopes also provide superior waterproof reliability (tested to a depth of 1m for 5 minutes). These Fieldscopes deliver outstanding value for first-time users and serve as a reliable backup for veterans. They are fully compatible with nine conventional Nikon Fieldscope eyepieces. Both models have been designed primarily for birdwatching and digiscoping applications.

Comments about Nikon 13-30x50 ED Fieldscope:
A great little scope. Lightweight, small size, could fit in a cargo pant pocket, yet has great clarity up to 30x zoom.

Comments about Nikon 13-30x50 ED Fieldscope:
This little scope is extraordinary for its size. It is sharp clear and incredibly sharp. It is the best small (50mm) scope made, IMHO.
My only concern is that the eyepiece doesn't come with a cover like the ones found in the small Minox and Leupold scopes. The little lens caps that come with the scope will be lost within the first few uses.

Comments about Nikon 13-30x50 ED Fieldscope:
Lightweight scope that is versatile in its use--handheld, shoulderpod, window mount, monopod or tripod. Sharp views, compact design allows you to carry it in a daypack! Great little scope for taking for plane travel.

Comments about Nikon 13-30x50 ED Fieldscope:
Was looking for something more portable than my 80mm scope as I found myself leaving it behind rather than lug it. This is the answer. There is a sacrifice in magnification obviously, but with a light weight tripod this makes me very happy to take it anywhere. Very sharp, bright image, easy to manage, not too pricey. I am very happy with it so far.

Q1: Would I be able to use this at the gun range?
A: You bet! With up to 30x magnification, and a 50mm objective lens, this would be great for use at a shooting range.
