Optics excellent, other choices available

Comments about Burris Black Diamond Riflescopes:

The optics and tracking of this scope are excellent. Side by side comparisons with my Nightforce 12-42 (considered one of the best), with both set at 32X, my eyes can't tell a difference.

However, when adjusting the power on the Burris, the entire ocular rotates. This is a terrible design if you like to use the Butler Creek flip-up lens caps because your whole cap rotates around! Burris also apparently makes the Pentax Lightseeker 30 line of scopes which have the conventional ring that rotates to adjust the power level. A much better design I think. Not wanting another Black Diamond (BD), I bought the Pentax for another rifle I have, it's not quite as nice looking as the BD, but the power function is much better to me.
