The new RifleHunter 550 Rangefinder combines speed and accuracy with Nikon's ID (Incline/Decline) Technology. Nikon ID Technology
Making an accurate shot on steep terrain is no different than making a shot on flat ground - you just need to know the equivalent horizontal range to the target. ID Technology compensates for shot angles, so you can simply push the button and plan your shot according to the displayed distance - no more second guessing.
Nikon’s ID technology
Nikon’s advanced ID Technology compensates for various incline or decline shooting angles—up to an incredible + 89 degrees (nearly vertical up or down).
Displays in .2 yard/meter increments (In ID mode)
Accurate compensated distance measurements are displayed in increments of .2 yard/meter increments out to 99.8 yards and in 1 yard/meter increments past 100 yards.
Displays in .5 yard/meter Increments (In standard mode)
Accurate compensated distance measurements are displayed in increments of .5 yard/meter increments out to 99.5 yards and in 1 yard/meter increments past 100 yards.

Comments about Nikon Riflehunter 550 with ID Technology Laser Rangefinder:
Customer service did great job, shipped and arrived on time. Very easy to deal with Binoculars.com staff. Only comment I have, would be the ability to use gift debit card and balance on normal charge card. Other than that, good job.
Tested accuracy by tape measure. At 50 yards 49.6/yd in viewer. 100 yards 98.8/yds. Weather was light mist rain and overcast. Very close and will help in field and take guess work out of yardage. In low light, hard if not possible to see screen, but have used Illuminator light to view screen and would work in a pinch. (Light used- Pelican Nemo 1900 with Illuminator) I don't consider this a major problem, prescout in light or try Illuminator. You're just trying to acquire range for shot placement. Light weight, easy to use, like case that fits on belt and layard long enough to hang from neck. 6X power good enough to acquire target and adjust for shot.
