LRF 1200

Comments about Newcon Optik 7x25 LRF Laser Rangefinder 1200 Yard Monocular:

I just received my Newcon LRF 1200 as a gift. It is extremely light with good optics ( careful, not to scratch lenses )

I was able to measure targets at 900 to 960 yards away occasionally. Quickly I have discovered how sensitive this unit is. Its capability totally depends on many factors. Even on a clear day, little pollution in addition to the size and reflectivity of the target altered my readings. Funny enough my measurements were in 900 yard ranges in the evening hours where less sun rays effected ( I am sure this is true ) the range. Another observation, it measured 1113 yards but, target was large and plastic type surface on it. For sure measurements totally depend on environmental conditions. For my use, I am happy that my wife gave me this LRF.

Product Misinformation

By Francis Bautista

from Undisclosed

Comments about Newcon Optik 7x25 LRF Laser Rangefinder 1200 Yard Monocular:

After trying the product at the rifle range with white and orange painted steel targets set from 200 yds to 600 yds, the Newcon Optik LRM 1200 did not measure up to what I expected. Farthest reading it could take was less than 400yds from shooting bench to the steel plates with frequent inconsistencies. At one time it registered a reading of 463yds for a tree as the target. It was consistent w/ no readings past the 400yds range. This product should be named LRM400.

Customer Q & A

Q1: CAN I USE LRM 1200 AT THE NIGHT?

A: You can definitely use this at night however it will not give you a very good image as it does not have a very big objective lens.

Q2: I will be using this product for golf only. Does it figure correct distance if my target is above or below from where I stand ?

A: The Newcon 7x25 LRF Monocular will always give you accurate ranges. It will NOT, however, tell you how long a golf shot will play. The only LRF on the market right now that will do that is the Bushnell Pinseeker 1500 w/Slope +/- Compensation. Here's the URL for that product; just paste it into your browser's address window to see it: http://binoculars.com/products/bushnell-pinseeker-1500-wslope-compensation-33789.html.
