I gave this as a gift to my dad for Christmas. I am extremely satisfied with this monocular. My dad is constantly hearing all sorts of wildlife outside like coyotes and Bob cats now he can see them at night when they walk through the yard. Great magnification as well. I am going to buy a set for myself as well!

Comments about Bushnell 2.5x42 Night Vision Monocular with Built-In IR:

I had medium expectations but was more than pleasantly surprised. The visual quality is good. Clear with decent resolution. The infrared works great.
The item feels solid and comfortable in hand. Convenient placement of control buttons.
Focusing can be a bit tricky. The pulsating or flashing when viewing can be annoying. (This characteristic is mentioned in the manual as normal)

All in all I'm very happy with this purchase.

Living in a rural area surrounded by farmland and fields, it is great to see what is out there at night to observe; foxes, deer, even saw a racoon chasing a red fox - what a joy!

                  Customer Q & A

Q1: How much better is dual-level IR?

A: It will make your object slightly brighter, which would enhance overall clarity.

Q2: Will this unit help me see people entering a farm to steal and also wild boar?

A: This would work quite well for your purposes, and has a viewing distance of up to 600 feet depending on the conditions.
