A: Yes it has a built in infrared illuminator.

A: yes it comes with the headgear and the nightvision monocular.
Q3: is it waterproof
A: i am sorry but it is water resistant not Waterproof.
Q4: Can the unit be used with either eye?
A: yes with either eye is just fine.
Q5: Can it be used in total darkness condition?
A: Yes it has a infrared illuminator which acts like a flashlight that is invisible to the naked and allows this to be used in total darkness.
Q6: Is there an auto-cut, if there is too much light in order not to damage the tube and our eyes?
A: i am sorry but there is not an auto cut-off for this. They do however provide a daylight filter cap so that it can be put on the lens to protect it from bright light and daylight.
Q7: How well,if any,does it fit on the US Army Kevlar helmet ?
A: It is designed to fit around your head with the supplied mount. There is actually not a helmet mount that you can use which will attach it to a helmet.
Q8: with thi glasses can you see infrared beam, like tv remote control?
A: You won't see a beam. However, if you're directly in front of the unit, you will see a small red light.
Q9: I am wondering if I can use it in my darkroom when I am developing film.

A: Yes, there's no reason we can think of that you can't. They'd probably be quite useful.
Q10: Can I see objects in the night sky with it?
A: You would be able to see objects in the night sky with this product. However if viewing the night sky is going to be your main focus, you might want to look into a generation 2 or generation 3 model. One of the higher generations will offer you more clarity and a farther focus range.
Q11: can the magnification be changed manually or do u either get the 1x 4x or 8x and that is set in the monocular
A: The ATN Viper Generation 1 Night Vision Goggle with Headgear can only be set at one of those 3 magnifications and has no range of magnification in between those set numbers.
