When I was choosing a night vision devices for my personal use I was told that Generation 1 would be useless, and that I need to look at Gen 2+ and up. However, after spending some time doing a research, I decided to give it a shot, and it was worth it.This product is great: clear image, ergonomic design, and powerful 5X magnification. And what was really important to me is that all of this is only for a price of around [$] Obviously, the picture is not as bright and sharp as with more expensive products, but it works perfect for me. Even on a cloudy night I am able to see at least 100-120 yards. With an attached IR450 you would able to see even in total darkness. I didn't check the maximum distance with the InfraRed, but for about 40-50 yards it works great. Once again, this is in absolutely dark place with no light available.I would recommend it to anybody who is looking for a pair of reliable, high-resolution, and inexpensive night vision binoculars.

I find this item leaves me a little wanting and I can see that the clearity could be better with the next generation. I am pleased though with my first purchase.
