Vortex Solo 10x36 Tactical Monocular

Built to be carried as a standard piece of equipment, close-at-hand, the Solo monocular gives you a closer look when you need it. And with the integral carry clip, the Solo attaches securely to any belt, strap or webbing. Premium roof prism and fully multi-coated glass surfaces deliver bright images in a compact, lightweight, and easy-to-handle unit.


Optical Features
Fully Multi-Coated Lenses Increase light transmission with multiple anti-reflective coatings on all air-to-glass surfaces.
Construction Features
Rubber Armor Provides a secure, non-slip grip, and durable external protection.
Adjustable Eyecup Twists up and down for comfortable viewing with or without eyeglasses.
Waterproof Optics are sealed with O-rings to prevent moisture, dust, and debris from getting inside the monocular.
Fogproof Barrels are filled with nitrogen gas to inhibit internal fogging.

          The monocular itself appears to be of high quality. The metal snap on the carrying case is very loose, however, and will accidentally release as noted by other reviewers. I squeezed the snap in a vise to deform it and to prevent it from opening altogether thereby making the case more secure and avoiding its accidentally opening during hikes etc. Of course the snap will not open even when pulled but this is preferable to losing the case and monocular.

            I like the size: not too small, not too big. It fits nicely in my hand, & light in weight. I can travel with it when I go sightseeing. The clarity of vision is excellent and easy to focus. The weatherproof construction makes it great to use when I am outdoors on hikes, etc.
