Description

The Minox Minoscope features both highly innovative technology and the best of Minox's classic technical capabilities. This unique compact miniature telescope measures just 92H x 57W x 44L mm, and fits neatly into the palm of your hand. Packed into its small size, however, is a range of high-performance features. This macroscope boasts an extremely close-focus distance of only 35 cm, as well as 8x magnification. This allows for close-up, detailed study of various subjects both far and near, with no disruption of their environment.

The minoscope's compact telescope body, designed by Volkswagen-Design, is specially crafted to meet all the demands typically placed on a regular-sized telescope. It has a field of view that rivals full-sized models, yet its compact size makes it portable and ideal for travel and sightseeing.

Minox technology uses Porro prisms, which provide naturally high light transmission. The lens features a diameter of 25 mm, as well as a high-quality multi-layer optic coating that ensures bright, high-contrast, and crisp images with accurate color rendition under all conditions. With this minoscope, Minox engineers applied some of the same design principles used in the new MINOX "High-Grade" range of binoculars, such as Quick Close Focus, or QCF, which is a new type of mechanism that allows better and more accurate focusing. With just a single turn of the lens's focusing ring, it is possible to adjust the Minox Macroscope to any setting, from close-up to infinite. The twist-up/twist-down eyecup is ideal for those who wear corrective lenses, and enhances the comfort of those who don't. Thanks to an extended exit pupil, the full field of view is visible at all times.

The Minox Minoscope features lightweight construction. It weighs it at just around 150 grams, yet it features tough rubber armoring that protects against everyday wear and tear and makes the macroscope exceptionally durable. Additionally, a special sealing technique involving internal purging with special argon gas is applied. This technique minimizes internal corrosion, prevents internal fogging during quick temperature or humidity changes, and ensures that the scope remains waterproof in bad weather conditions, including submersion up to five meters.

Whether used for watching the sky or getting the most out of a travel experience, the Minox Minoscope offers the best in technology, comfort, and ease of use.

Comments about Minox Miniscope 8x25 Monocular:

As we travel often this unit is perfect to go with regards to it's size and weight, not to mention performance. I also use it at the range as a spotting scope. When combined with a Trek-Tech mini tri-pod it's uses are limited only by ones imagination.

Comments about Minox Miniscope 8x25 Monocular:

Maybe it was one too many episodes of "Burn Notice," but I was craving a pocket-sized monocular for an upcoming vacation, as opposed to negotiating binoculars, even small ones, and their ubiquitous neck cords. I took a chance and decided to finally treat my self to optics a step or two above cheap peeping gadgets.
What I found in the black Minox 8x25 Minoscope was the perfect combination of size, weight, fantastic clarity and (admittedly) fantasy-stoking sexiness worthy of the coolest covert operative. The 8-power optics are beautiful and bright from edge to edge and the rubber casing is ergonomic and well-placed.
The front-located focus ring does need near-constant riding, as the optics are extremely sensitive, so this wouldn't be the best choice for a lot of panning and variable-depth action. But for handy spotting and grabbing detail when it's absolutely critical, this is a beautiful little scope, especially for a glasses-wearer.
As an operational bonus, there are also TWO mounting connections, one for a tripod and another, just under the eyecup, for a loop-type wrist or neck strap. A decent black neck cord is included.

Comments about Minox Miniscope 8x25 Monocular:

      The pros:
Perfect to fit in your pocket, crisp and bright view.
I use it as a secondary unit to my binoculars, for when I just want to watch rapidly what's going on; then I use my Nikon 10x42.
Useful in wildlife photografy when you carry a huge telephoto and you want to use the camera with one hand (and a tripod) and this monocular with the other hand, to scout the field.

      Now the cons:
Front focusing ring is not so friendly, and you have to operate it with your pinkie if you are holding the monocular with one hand.
Moreover, I have little hands, and the porro prism construction makes this a bit larger than a standard roof prism monocular.
I would like more a total rubber coating, without anodized alloy parts.

In sum, a very good product; way better than any other low price monoculars I tried before. And in facts this doesnt comes cheap.

      Pros

      • Close focus
      • Easy to focus
      • Light weight

      Cons

        Best Uses

        • Bird Watching
        • Spotting wildlife

Comments about Minox Miniscope 8x25 Monocular:

At half the weight of compact binoculars, I like to use the monocular as a spotting scope on bicycle trips, short walking hikes, day trips, and camping in the desert. A good compliment, but not a replacement, to binoculars. Cost is a bit high, but well worth it in quality of the optics and the ability for close focus compared to a common monocular.
