Comments about Zeiss Design Selection 10x25B T DS Monocular with Pouch:

The optics in this scope are top notch. It's very sharp and clean. But, if you wear glasses I can not recommend it. It's usable but not comfortable at all. Maybe monoculars are more sensitive to eye relief. The focus is not sloppy but it slips too easily. Every time you take it out the focus is off a mile.

Comments about Zeiss Design Selection 10x25B T DS Monocular with Pouch:

You’re paying a premium for the Zeiss brand but the quality is excellent – image is clear, bright and crisp and the contrast between this monocular and my older - and much cheaper one - is night and day.

Comments about Zeiss Design Selection 10x25B T DS Monocular with Pouch:

I am a fan of Swarowski. I wanted a moncular from this company but they have not. My old big Swavs are heavy for taking them all the time. So I did bought the Swavs mini binos they have (10x25). They are great. But I needed something smaller and decided to give a try the Zeiss company that I did not knew (from binoculars). Now that I have both it is hard to tell with wich one you see the better. The main differences are:
Weight: the Zeiss is less than half.
Field fo view: Better the Swavs just becouse you are seeing with both eyes.
Finding objects. The Zeiss is better finding something. It is hard to believe due to the smaller field of view, but it is. Maybe it is becouse the position that is needed to grab it, who knows.
Size: Eventhought the Swavs are small and they come in a small bag, the Zeiss are better by far.

Take note on this. If you are like me and never use a belt with your pants, just put the monocular inside the bag in your pants and you are ready to hit the road. I just went for a trip with some friends in fourwheelers. Put it in my bag and forgot I had it until we where resting and wanted to see the nature. Just great. I put it in my suitecase and the take very small space. So in the office when things get hot, I rest with a coffee and see outside with my Zeiss for minutes, then back to reality!
When you stop using you Zeiss monoculars, you will realize that your own vision is better with Zeiss due to the coated optics they use, it is better than the real thing. So even at night use they are fine.

Finally, a 10x25 Monocular With Great Optics

              By Ray A

              from Undisclosed

Comments about Zeiss Design Selection 10x25B T DS Monocular with Pouch:

After owning several monoculars from other companies, Zeiss is the only one I've tried that truly hit a homerun. Except for one small thing I don't like, it would have been a grand slam.

The quality of the optics is typical Zeiss - bright, clear, and un-distorted, all of the way out to the edges. Image detail is superb. As far as I can tell, the glass has near-perfect color transparency. There is no shift between what I see through the 10x25 and what my eyes see naturally. I believe that this monocular delivers every bit of detail and clarity

The eyepiece turns very easily, but stays put as well. Whether you prefer to focus using one hand and it's thumb, two hands, or even one hand and your eyebrow, it's very easy to focus. Yet it has sufficient damping so that, once in focus, it won't go out of focus on it's own.

I carry mine every day, so it's low weight is also a plus.

While I would have preferred that the lanyard be removable/replaceable, the carrying case has a grommet that makes up for that. Simply thread the lanyard through the grommet, put the 10x25 in it's case and toss it around your neck. When you need to use it, simply open the case, remove the monocular, and start using it. The lanyard is long enough to allow the case to remain in place while using the monocular. You can even pop the monocular back in with the case un-zippered, to act as a make-shift rainguard. It's a simple, yet extremely functional design.

Also, though Zeiss makes no mention of it, you can also use it as a 3x (my estimate) magnifier. Simply roll the eyepiece up, turn the focus to it's closest setting, and then look through the front element with the eyepiece just over whatever you want to look at. When used as a magnifier, your eye(s) can be at least a foot or two away and still see clearly. My eyesight isn't want it used to me, so I find this very useful in checking the mint marks of my pocket change.

Some folks may balk at the price, but, in optics, you truly get what you pay for. I'm not rich, so I part with my money only when it's justified. I'm so happy with the Zeiss 10x25 monocular that if were I to lose mine, I wouldn't hesitate to eat pinto beans until I could afford to buy another.

The non-removable strap earns it 4.9 stars for not being quite perfect. So 5 will have to do. In my book, it's definitely more than a 4 star product.
