Description

The Alpen 10x32 Monocular is built to endure even the toughest conditions and to provide excellent viewing in a conveniently compact size. Constructed with smaller prisms and objective lenses in order to reduce weight, this monocular nevertheless offers superb value, with sharp, clear views and plenty of image brightness thanks to the coated optics. It features a 32mm objective lens diameter, powerful 10x magnification, eyepiece focus system with BK7 roof prism and coated lens, 3.2mm exit pupil, and 10mm eye relief. This compact sport monocular comes complete with a durable nylon case and standard neck strap. It weighs just four ounces.

There are many 10X20 or 10x25 monoculars on the market but this one's 32mm lens diameter really makes all the difference: the picture is (obviously) brighter than what you get with others. Nice product, weighs almost nothing, well-designed. The fact that the eye-piece is somewhat difficult to turn may actually be a good thing -- it doesn't go 'accidentally' out of focus. To sum it up: well-made, good value for the price.

            Comments about Alpen 10x32 Monocular:

this is the second monocular that I have purchased that has simply fallen apart. In this case, the lens fell out, and I have no idea where it could be, so now the thing is useless to me.

            Customer Q & A

Q1: I want to be able to read equipment data plate information at a distance of 10 - 20 feet. Would a mononcular be any good for this?

A: A monocular should work. The Alpen 10x32 Monocular will make objects appear to be 10 times as close as they actually are. That means if you can read a data plate at 2 feet, you should be able to read it at 18 or 20 feet. Likewise, if you can read the plate at 1 foot, you should be able to read it at 10 feet.

Q2: I need a monocular to read Electric Meters..small numbers about half and inch at about 10/20 feet away. Or across the yard scenario. Also sometimes we need to read during cloudy and rainy days what product do you suggest that can do the job?

A: The Alpen 10x32 Monocular you've already checked out would be a good choice. The 32mm aperture will give reasonably bright images on cloudy days, and 10X magnification will bring those distant electric meters 10 times as close as they actually are. That means a meter that's 50 feet away will appear to be only 5 feet distant through the Monocular. At 30 feet, it would appear to be 3 feet, etc.

Q3: Please let me know how big this is - looking for small one for travel, cruise.

A: The Alpen 10x32 Monocular is 5.5" long, and the diameter is 1" at the eyepiece, and 1.5" at the objective lens.
