Fun for kids to look at things up close, however the software needs some improvements.. Ex: Snap a photo, it logs it, but looks nothing like the item you were looking at, sometimes just a dark picture. Invest in something for a little more money, it would be well worth it.

My greatest negative grading is in focusing. The thumb wheel adjustment requires two hands to use. The thumb wheel is too course and your finger slips resulting in significant movement of the scope requiring repositioning. The holding stand is excellent in maintaining stability of settings when changing specimens. In general you get good value for the price.
If there is too much light to view the outlines on silver coins, this is what I did to cut down on said light:
Find the size of Shrinkable tubing that just fits over the small bulbs and cut the tubing a little longer than the lamp. Only Shrink the end of the tubing. Insert tubing on light bulbs as needed bulb.
