Q1: Just getting into this again (after 30 years). Is the wedge an accessory necessary for an LX200 10" GPS? And do you recommend UHTC coating on all of yoru products? Is UHTC standard with the LX200 8" or 10"?
A: The wedge is not a neccessary accessory but a good one to have none the less. UHTC does not come standard with the scopes. It is recommended though as it will gather 20% more light than a scope of the same size without it.
Q2: If I bought the wedge, would I have to get counterweights as well?
A: It is a very good idea to make sure that when you are using an equatorial wedge you have enough or get more counterweights as it will cause the scope to lean back which can make it off balance as the weight of the tube is then in the back instead of eveny distributed over the tripod. The counterweights will allow you to comfortably use the wedge and not ahve to worry about the balance.
Q3: Does the wedge come with (3) mount bolts to provide additional securing to the tripod. Do you all sell the rosette knobs/screws to attach the scope to the mount?
A: The wedge comes with three mounting bolts equipped with plastic knobs for easy tightening.
