My expectations for this very inexpensive category were low.[...] They're all you'd ever expect at this price, and much more. Sturdy, easy to focus. Clear images. I'm keeping them and giving away the other pair! Do know, though, that I have not tested them with prolonged use, so I don't know if they hold up well. (Do the lenses come loose inside and fall out of place? Does dirt finds its way inside?). Do they endure bike vibrations? Accidental drops, etc. They appear to be solid, though, and I think they'll be great for the car for times I wish I had some with me and didn't bring any. I might get three more pair to permanently keep in recreational places: Our bike saddlebags, inside our kayak's center pouch; in my purse or backpack, in my photographers's vest (24 pockets), on my deck at the beach house to view wildlife. They also would be GREAT for ball games and the theater, or concerts. You never know when you'll want these, and they're so small and light you can take them anywhere, and so inexpensive you can afford several pairs so you'll always have them.

I'm a retired professional birdwatching guide, who worked out of southeast arizona for 18 years. I was looking for a small, light binocular to use for hiking. I used a bushnell elite 8X42 binocular for 18 years. This compact binocular is of very poor quality, surprising for a bushnell product. The lenses were dirty upon arrival. The optic quality is similar to a kids style binocular, barely usable with real poor quality lenses. I was very disappointed with my purchase.

I use it for looking at areas of a building I cannot see from the ground. These binoculars let me see things without the need for a ladder or manlift.
