The Action Extreme binoculars are aimed at hunters who want traditional Porro-style binoculars with superior waterproof, fogproof, and shockproof attributes to withstand extreme conditions.
Each EX is nitrogen-filled and O-ring-sealed for total waterproof and fogproof performance in any environment. Binocular bodies are ergonomically shaped, tripod-adaptable, and are rubber coated for a non-slip grip, whether wet or dry.
Optically they're ready for action as well. Lens elements incorporate multi-layered anti-reflective coatings to deliver optimum brightness, high contrast, true color rendition, and flare-free viewing in most lighting conditions. A unique click-stop eyecup design provides variable eye relief that is customizable to each user's eyes and eyeglasses. There's also a diopter control to correct for normal right/left eye vision imbalance.

I already had 10x50 of the same brand and style, and thought the 16x50 would bring the killer whales that I watch even closer. NOT TRUE...lousy foucs on these binos...they are really good for upclose...but not for farther distance..I even got the tripod as suggested- that was a waste of money too...the 10x50 are much better...these are too expensive for what I got...very disappointed with NIKON on this one.

I bought these for my husband for his birthday and he really likes them. They give us a nice clear view around the lake. He watches the loons and other wild life. Our lake is small compared to some, about 1/2 mile across, and you can see the slats in the deck of our neighbors dock across the lake. . . these do not have zoom capability, not a bad thing. He does not wear glasses, but I do and these work great for both of us. Easy to focus.

These binoculars are truly great glass for the price, BUT, they are really powerful. They are hard to hold steady without a rest or tripod. The optics are Nikon quality sharp and clear 50mm glass captures lots of light so viewing when it dim is much better than smaller objective lenses. They are not for everyone I use them for long range hunting on a bi-pod rest.

A: Yes, Nikon 16x50 Action Extreme ATB Waterproof binoculars will mount on the Nikon 847 tripod. Just about any binocular will mount on just about any photo tripod, Rick.
