Description

A mil. spec. tactical binocular with the U.S. Army M-22 reticle, which can be used in conjunction with a variety of mil. dot or other reticles and riflescopes. This is the model used by many law enforcement and special operations units (they discourage us from telling you which ones), so let's just say these binoculars are ideal for many tactical applications under extreme conditions, especially if you're constantly on the move. This 8 x 30 is lightweight, compact, and fits easily in a coat pocket; brilliant CAT optics deliver excellent performance in low light, and at only 18 oz., their nighttime or low light performance is truly impressive.

      Comments about Steiner :

This is a very good and reliable product. These are optically sound binoculars, with the M22 reticle for estimating size/distance. They are somewhat heavy for the power/field-of-view, but this is primarily due to their robust waterproofing and shock-resistance (always a trade-off).

The quality glass is well worth the additional money. Do not be fooled by the 30mm lens, excellent low light images.

          Comments about Steiner :

I recently used these on a trip through Arizona to use for backpacking. Couldn't be happier with the way these worked! Crystal clear lenses, excellent performance in low light, and powerful enough to see small objects from miles away. (In the Grand Canyon, I could clearly spot people walking around the top of the canyon from deep below.) May be a bit heavy for backpacking but the performance and clarity made the extra weight worth carrying. The rugged construction held up to all the abuse of camping in below freezing weather and rainy conditions. The reticle came very much in handy for estimating distances from landmarks. While a bit on the pricey side, you get what you pay for in terms of quality and construction. Looking forward to using these for years to come. By light years, better than any other set of binoculars I've owned.

          Customer Q & A

Q1: What is the closefocus distance for this binoculars?

A: The close focus is approximately 12 feet

Q2: I am looking for a good binos with best lowlight-nighttime performance& now i wanna make a decission between 8x30 Nighthunter XP & 8x30 Military R , Would you please help me to choose the one of them( or prob better choice)?

A: Both the Steiner 8x30 Military R and Nighthunter binoculars do very well in low-light conditions. The Nighthunter's optical coatings, however, give a shade better low-light performance than the 8x30 Military's.
