Difficult to maintain precise focus from near targets to infinity. Be aware these are 'set and forget' type binoculars with no center wheel to adjust focus from near to far. While, convenient, there is a slight difference in settings for close objects vs distant and that can only be accomplished by adjusting each eye separately.

I Use these binoculars on a regular basis. You can sence them gathering light at night. You remove them you can see the ambient light, But you get the real feeling of the optics when you put them back in use

This is without a doubt the finest pair of binoculars that I have ever used. I just love them. In dusk conditions, I compared them to my old pair of 7 by 50's and the difference was astounding. I can't imagine what anyone could find wrong with them.

Q1: I am looking for a quality bino for law enforcement needs. One would think the POLICE binos would be the best choice, but I am drawn to the 7X50 Commander V. Why do the Commanders seem more clear and brighter than the POLICE binos?

A: Steiner Commander V binoculars are some of the brightest, crispest binoculars ever made. The difference between the Police and the Commanders is chiefly in the optical coatings. The Commanders achieve better than 93% light transmission.
