Minox BD 9.5x42 IF Magnum Binoculars

Ruggedness and ease of operation was the prime requirement when designing the latest MINOX binoculars



When it comes to designing new products, the ability to respond flexibly and quickly to individual needs, even those of small and special target groups, is a strong feature of MINOX Germany. The latest example underlining this ability are the MINOX BD 9.5 x 42 IF binoculars, designed exclusively for the U.S. market. With design and function aimed to provide extreme ruggedness as well as fast and easy operation, the prime features of this new product from the range of MINOX binoculars and spotting scopes makes it a tool cut out to meet the requirements of the U.S. police force, special squads or security services in particular. As from September 2004 the paramilitary have available to them a new binocular from MINOX.

One key feature is the easy focussing. This is because when viewing distant subjects the user of these new roof prism binoculars does not have to make any focus adjustments. The convenient individual focussing of the two eyepieces are adjusted just once to the eyesight of the viewer and that's it. An extremely lightweight, hardwearing and rubber-armoured body enhances the overall handling. Through its built-in tripod mounting thread, the BD 9.5 x 42 IF can be used with a tripod, a very convenient feature with binoculars of this kind.

The basis of the technological design of the BD 9.5 x 42 IF comes from the current range of MINOX binoculars: aspherical lenses give the user excellent contrast, definition and detailed rendition right up to the edges of view. Argon gas prevents fogging as well as corrosion on the inside of the binoculars. Special eyepieces fitted with foldable rubber eyecups open up the entire field of view to the user, even when wearing glasses.

Included with the MINOX BD 9.5 x 42 IF binoculars is a hardwearing leather case as well as a wide Neoprene strap. As an option these new binoculars are available with or without a cross-line grid.
