I purchased this item after looking for the ideal pair of binoculars that I could use for bird watching in all types of weather. These have yet to be tested in the rain.

I use these every day to see what is feeding in my backyard. From 50 yards, I can distinguish types of sparrows. I also used them at the "Best of Broadway" plays from the rear balcony seats (although I probably look silly), and they performed well. They are light, which helps with being able to hold them for a long period of time. They are large, and the only rubberized parts are around the objective lenses and the top hinges, which makes them a little slippery when holding them very dry or very wet hands. The binoculars do not have a "cheap" feel although the housing is composite.

The picture is clear, although there seems to be a slight fuzzing of the picture around the extreme edges -which may be on all binoculars. Although the binoculars are individual focus, I can view items from 8-50 yards without needing to refocus. I did notice, when holding the binoculars away from my face, that the large exit pupils have a slight squaring effect around the extreme edges -probably caused by the prism. It's important to understand that I am being very critical, and I would buy these fantastic binoculars again in a New York second.

THIS IS MY 3RD SET OF FUJINONS IN 25 YEARS. THE 7X50 INDIVDUAL FOCUS ARE BETTER THAN OTHER MAKES WHICH ARE TWO AND THREE TIMES THE COST. I HAVE TRUELY TORTURED MY FIRST PAIR FOR 15 YEARS IN ALASKAN WATERS (ALL SEASONS).

I have used this binocular to view stars. The optics is excellent. The binocular is light and ergonomic. Individual focus excursion is good but could be extended a bit more to include near objects. Negative points are lack of precise reference ticks in the focusing of the eyepieces making it difficult to reproduce a given focus setting. Also, the manual booklet is poorly written

with scant information about the product. Considering the relatively low price I recommend this binocular.

I have now used my fujinon mariner binos for 4 seasons of hunting. I wanted a rugged waterproof pair of binoculars because of the type of hunting I do. I course jack rabbits with sighthounds. I need to be able to watch the dogs as they are running at nearly 40 MPH and the auto focus is absolutely neccessary for this. I have used these in the rain, fog, dusk, and even night. they always perform superior to all of my hunting companios, regardless of price.



my only ccomplaints are that the neck strap that comes with the binos is a bulky affair intended to provide floatation in water. A slimer land version would be nice. Also after 4 years of rugged use the lens covers have broken. They still work but no longer have the retainer straps and become seterated from the binos and I am sure will eventually get lost. A diferent design that allows more flexibility would last longer. Minor complaints for such a solid performing bino.
