Very little fringing as I have found on other low cost optics.Only gripe: The one eye adjustment (sorry, the technical term escapes me at the moment) is easy to screw up. Get it right, then use a Sharpie to mark the position. There MUST be a way to adjust and lock in...I would highly recommend these for their cost/quality ratio. I couldn't believe Steiner for less than [$].

          Due to being 10x German made glass these are suited well for long distance viewing, very sharp ,very clear, plus the lens coating makes these bino's excellent at the beach & in bright sun, have wroked well in dim light also.Lite weight makes for easy carry & eyecaps are good for keeping unwanted side light out.

          I have several binoculars with various uses. This Steiner more than meets expectations for casual, crisp service. They are small but not so as to make it difficult to find a steady, clear focus. Work good with glasses, can be carried in a pocket. The glass is German, enough said!
