      I bought this for field view. It has a very good grip. Lense quality is very good. However my wife complained that she could not focus properly(bispectacled) or may be she is using it for the first time.I was looking for BAK-4 lenses but they are bit costly comparing to this. This one has BK-7 lenses. This is not a water proof,fog proof model but works very well. I feel under $40 this is worth buying. Apart from the binocular I would like to mention about the free shipping. It was really fast and I got it in 3 days. Packing was good and a nice pouch included in that. Thanks to hayneedle.com for the pleasant,secure shopping experience. In future I will try some other higher end models from Barska.

        Q1: description states the 10x50 X-trail is available in 8x only but attributes indicate 10x. Please clarify.

        A: There are Two different binoculars in the Barska X-Trail series one is 8x42 (model #52-1258) and one is 10x50 (52-1269) The reason you see the 8x only (and i thank you for catching that) is originally that was the only one avaialable but Barska has increased the versions available in the X-Trail series.

        Q2: Re: 10x50 - I would like to know the size and weight + the minimum focal length. O.T. Ridley

        A: Barska 10x50 X-Trail binoculars measure 7.25 x 5.375 inches and weigh 30 ounces. Close focus is 33 feet.
