Comments about Olympus Magellan EXWP I 10x42mm Binoculars:

I use these for birdwatching and have owned them for several months now. They are not too heavy for long hikes, but I do want to get a smoother neck strap - one that is not so scratchy - a minor issue. I compared these to $800 Leupold in low light conditions, and the Olympus views were the brightest! The lenses are also crisp and clear and colors are bright under all conditions I've used them in. I like the 10x42s and don't find them too difficult to hold steady or too heavy. Nice feel in the hand and comfortable held up to the face. I wear glasses, but prefer to use the bins without my glasses, tho the view is still crisp and clear using the eye cups.

        Magellan EXWP 1 10x42

Comments about Olympus Magellan EXWP I 10x42mm Binoculars:

Look through the Olympus binoculars and see for yourself. I compared them to the Fujinon CD and Nikon's Monarch. Fujinons were sharper but twice the cost. Olympus Japanese optics are brighter and sharper than Nikon's Chinese optics. Don't

take my word, let your eyes decide.

Comments about Olympus Magellan EXWP I 10x42mm Binoculars:

I loaned my new Olympus 10x42 to a friend who had just bought a more expensive Nikon model. He said the Olympus was just as good. They cost hundreds less.

        Customer Q & A

Q1: Do these binoculars come equipped with Porro prisms?

A: No, they don't. The Olympus Magellan EXWP I 10x42s are roof prism binoculars. You can tell by the "straight-through" configuration. Porro prism binoculars are "bent," or "dog-legged," with the eyepieces offset from the objective lenses.
