      Binoculars are okay for quick viewing in the field, but are very difficult to focus. You have to search for the right distance to hold them away from your eyes, can't hold them up tight to the eye, which I prefer.

      I bought these binoculars to use while kayaking, hence the need for a waterproof pair. They have excellent magnification and light transmission. Are a bit difficult to focus, get the proper spread without blacked out areas, and too easy to change the diopter setting inadvertantly. Seem to be constructed well and feel sturdy. Definitely worth the price paid at Binoculars.com.

        I have a pair of Leupold compact binoculars which cost three times as much and are no better in quality or performance. The view through these Alpen compact binoculars is extremely sharp and distortion free. And the image is very bright. For the price, they can't be beat.
