    Purchased both the Vortex Talon and Viper 10 x 42 models. Didn't notice any discernable difference in optics, but found the Viper more compact size to be much more apealing for carrying around all day bird watching.

      These are great bins, perfect for bird watching. They are a little heavier than I'm used to, but that's probably because I've never had quality binoculars in the $400-500 price range. The close focus is incredible and they also work well in low light conditions, perfect for birding at dawn or dusk. I gave these to my boyfriend for Christmas, who is a budding birder and he absolutely loves them. He was up at dawn the day after Christmas testing out his new bins and was amazed at the detail and colors of birds he saw. HD lenses make all the difference.

      Just took my new talon hd binos to the desert by my house in Arizona. Went out in low light conditions. Better than my brothers much more expensive euros. What a great bino for the money. And u can not beat the vortex life time warranty.. You can pay all you want for that status high dollar binos, I like my money in my pocket, and quality in my hands. Great job vortex, great job!!!

The optics are comparable to high dollar binoculars as well as the shape, size and feel. Very happy with these binoculars. Great price for "hd" glass.
