Zeiss Victory Series Binoculars - State-of-the-art
For people who do not want to make any compromises when it comes to optical performance and handling in the field. The state of the art Victory FL binoculars in this series use fluoride glass to offer optimum brilliance and color fidelity for authentic image rendition. Furthermore, these binoculars feature maximum transmission values and minimum stray light levels so that they have amazing twilight performance. This is not just our opinion. Many trade journalists have noted the FLs' exceptional brilliance and twilight performance.
Clearly the leading edge - Victory FL binoculars
Maximum brightness, contrast, resolution and color fidelity, light transmission of over 90%, optimum edge-to-edge sharpness, minimum chromatic aberration, widest field of view with wide-angle eyepieces, featured with the innovative LotuTec coating - these binoculars and their special lenses with fluoride-containing glasses (FL) amazingly can capture the smallest detail. Low weight as well as visual ease-of-use and exceptional handling, in addition to the best optical image quality of its class make the Victory FL unbeatable.
LotuTec Protective layer for a crystal clear view
LotuTec is an effective protection coating for eyepiece and objective lenses - thus offering sharper viewing. The coating remarkably reduces soiling of the lens with its strong repelling effect. A principle of nature was the catalyst of this invention: the Lotus leave effect. It describes the water-repelling propery of surfaces, to simply repel water drops and dirt.
Zeiss specialists were able to apply this principle to the optical glass: a water drop touches the coated surface with a much smaller contact area thus forming a ball that repels without leaving a trace. Oil smears and fingerprints adhere less and can be removed more quickly, easily and free from trace - LotuTec makes the cleaning and caring for the lenses very easy. In addition, the LotuTec coating is resistant, abrasion-proof and aids in the reduction of scratches.

Comments about Zeiss Victory FL 7x42mm Binoculars:
I own several "high end" binoculars : a 8,5 x 42 Swarovski (too strong to use : 7x is ALWAYS better !), a Leica Ultravid 7x42 HD, several other Swarovskis : an old 7x42, a 8x30, a Zeiss scope, about 6 or 7 Steiners (My favorite is the Commander V 7x50 ànd the 8x42 (7x doesn't exist) "Wildlife"). The excellent eyecups of my 7x50 Commander V kept falling off ànd my strap was broken. I also needed a few other things. All was replaced by STEINER without any problem and for free. GREAT, that's the way we like to do business ! The next binocular I'll buy = the Nikon EDG 7x42. It's a hobby, lol ! Never EVER use your binoculars without eyecups. The difference is like 50% better sight ; can you imagen thàt ? You pay [$] for a good pair of binoculars and thén you don't get eyecups on them ? With eyecups, my binoculars feel like a diving mask : I am right in the middle of the action, nothing from "outside" is disturbing me !

Comments about Zeiss Victory FL 7x42mm Binoculars:
Excellent binoculars, best I've ever used. Crystal clear image quality with no distortion, very solidly built. However, it may not be worth the price premium as compared to mid-range Nikons. Also, Zeiss' accidental damage warranty only applies to lower-priced Conquest binoculars and not higher priced Victory.
Service and delivery comments:
Next day free delivery, product was in good condition.

Comments about Zeiss Victory FL 7x42mm Binoculars:
I go birdwatchting from dusk till dawn.
This binocular is sublime for forest birding, due to its fast focus, light transmission and FOV. No other brand comes close in making the perfect 7x42. Zeiss uses big Abbe Koenig prisms in their 42 victory range, which are intrinsically better than the Swarovskis and Leica's Schmidt-Pechan prisms (also used in Zeiss 8x32 and 10x32) for light transmission. I use glasses, and due to the very large exit pupil on their 7x, I have a very comfortable total field of view with glasses on.
Compared to a 10x binocular, this one really excells in low light, butterfly and forest bird observations, and fast focus on flying birds due to large field of view and debt of view. Also, it is much easier to hold it stable. Most determination problems are not caused by lack of resolution, but image instability, that's why most can't get a good view of important details of a bird. For far-away perched birds, I also carry a Nikon ED50 telescope with 27x.
