Pentax 6.5x21 Papilio
Need to get up really close in a hurry? You can. The PENTAX Papilio 6.5x21 binoculars incorporate a new mechanism that can offer a minimum focusing distance of just 18 inches. That's waaay shorter than the 6.5 feet offered by other PENTAX models currently on the market.
The 6.5x21 is part of an optics series called Papilio, the Latin word for butterfly, because it was specifically developed to satisfy the need for close-range observation of butterflies and other insects.
All members of the series feature go-anywhere portability, making them ideal for spectator sports, travel and hiking.

Comments about Pentax 6.5x21mm Papilio Binoculars:
These binoculars are a real treat. With a close focus of 18 inches the world at your feet opens to a real adventure. No need to leave the backyard or flower garden. Watching insects and flowers is awe inspiring. The optics are crystal clear, they are lightweight and easy to handle with a very smooth focus. And they are very nice for general observation and birdwatching. I own many and more expensive binoculars but right now I have to say these are my favorites. I cannot recommend them enough. These are truly amazing binoculars for the price.

Comments about Pentax 6.5x21mm Papilio Binoculars:
I've owned dozens of binoculars...none as fun as these. SO much fun for the money. Can hold steady with one hand. Close-ups will blow your mind. Give these to a child...and he will become a scientist instead of a gang member...I SWEAR!

Comments about Pentax 6.5x21mm Papilio Binoculars:
I have owned binoculars that were less expensive but could never quite get things in focus. I decided to spend a little bit more for a quality pair. They are lightweight, easy to adjust, and provide a nice, sharp focus.

Q1: Where can I find a bipod or tripod for the Papilio? Thanks, Mike
A: The Papilio has a standard threading size for tripod mounting. Any of the tripods we carry would work for these binoculars. All you will need for mounting these is an L adapter. L adapters are a universal size. This adapter will thread into the binoculars and then thread to the top of any tripod mount for easy and comfortable observing.
