      I am a novice binocular user so this will not contain technical info though I understand most of it going through dictionaries and forums. I would like to say the focus knob is very precise and I am able to easily focus in on my target. Additionally, the power allows me to see objects my own eyes cannot even see. This may not seem surprising to anyone but for some reason I think that is pretty cool! These certainly augment my own eyes and the clarity and capability of these binos are certainly welcome. The FOV is also nice as I can see the entire range and not limited due to shadows from the barrels. I am sure I will have more to say when I get these binos out in the field and test them. One negative that bothers me are the front plastic lens caps. They should have figured out how to make them snug as they fall off easily while putting them in or taking them out of the case. I plan on using some tape so at least they stay on. The rubber caps for the objectives are much better than the plastic caps but still could be improved with a tighter fit.

        I've owned dozens of binoculars over the years, but these Monarch 3's are the best set I've owned. They are lightweight, have excellent eye relief and they focus very smooth throughout it's range. For a binocular that costs less than $250, you won't go wrong with these!

Nikon has built on the Monarch brand and has introduced a truely world-class binocular - my pick for a sub 300 dollar binocular.
