Q1: I'm considering the Celestron Outland LX 10x42 Binoculars for my 9-year-old daughter. Two questions: 1) I'm concerned about a review that said that it was hard to get the eyepieces close enough together to avoid double-image? Is this a problem with this model? 2) Would 10x42 be the right power or is 8x42 better for general birding?
A: The Celestron Outland binoculars would be able to fold in very close and would not create a double image or any other problems. The 8x42 would be lighter and easier to keep in focus for a child. An 8x42 is also the recommended size of binocular for general birding.
