Description

Explore nature without limits with the Bushnell NatureView Plus Birder 8x40mm binoculars. Designed specifically for serious birders and naturalists, the 8x40 Birders are lightweight, easy to use, and durable. These qualities also make them excellent for catching every moment of a favorite sporting event or concert, even from a great distance.

The 8x40 Birder features a 40mm objective lens diameter, which allows for ample lighting during peak bird-watching hours. 8x magnification and a field of view of 340 feet at 1,000 yards give you a close-up look at a wide range of space, with no distortion. Close-focus capabilities, BK-7 porro prisms, and fully coated optics allow for intimate, bright, and crisply detailed views of wildlife, without fear of disturbing or startling timid animals.

The center focus's textured knob makes easy work of honing in on the action. Durable rubber armor repels water, prevents slipping, and absorbs shock, and tripod adaptability allows you to keep the binoculars stable and steady, even through long periods of use. Eyeglass-wearers will appreciate the non-scratch, fold-down rubber eyecups, 12mm of eye relief, and diopter ring, which allows them to view things glasses-free by dialing in their specific correction.

Highly portable, easy to use, and tough, these binoculars are ideal for novice and experienced bird watchers and nature-lovers alike.

Comments about Bushnell 8x40mm Bird Watching Binoculars:

I thought, from the picture on the website, that the lenses would be ruby coated, which helps reduce glare and aids in low light on the subject. The lenses are clear, and not really good for evening usage for birding. The value is good, based on what I've paid in the past.

Comments about Bushnell 8x40mm Bird Watching Binoculars:

These were a birthday gift for a 10 year old girl. I tested them before hand and liked them well enough I will get a pair for the keeping in the car. The image quality was plenty good for most birdwatching which is how I tested them. They are a little large for a child but teens should have no trouble with them.

        Customer Q & A

Q1: I want to send these binoculars to a friend in Ireland. How do I do this?

A: You have two options 1. We can ship it to your friend if you put your friend as the shipping address. 2. You can have it shipped to you and then ship it to him yourself. Whichever option is easiest for you.

Q2: What are the strongest compact, durable, and not-too-heavy binoculars currently available on the market? Brand and specifications would oblige. They are to be used mainly for tourist travel in Switzerland & other European locations. Thank you.

A: My suggestion would be the Nikon Mopuntaineer II ATB 10X25. 10 times magnification 25mm objective lenses 25yr no fault warranty and very compact.

Q3: What is the difference between porro and roof prisms in binoculars

A: A porro prism binocular is where the prism inside the chambers are at 45 degree angles. In the roof prisms they are at 90 degrees. So in a porro the objective lenses are offset form where the eyepieces are while in a roof you are looking straight through them.

Q4: what is the best binocular focus technique to achieve a crisp image

A: Before even trying to focus on anything you want to see, you'll want to make sure your diopter adjustment is properly set and that your eyecups are set to your particular visual needs. Then turn the focus knob slightly past the focus point and back-turn it so it's precisely on. That method seems to work best.
