Q1: what are the dimension or actual size of the binocular, Bushnell 12x50 sku 191250 price 139.00
A: Bushnell Legend 12x50 binoculars measure 7 x 7 x 2.5 inches.
Q2: Regarding the 12x50 Bushnell Legend, which has better optical and handing qualities, the porro or the roof prism type? Why is there a significant difference in their respective prices? If I want one for stargazing, which would you recommend? Thank you.
A: Generally speaking, roof-prism binoculars are easier to handle and carry around because they don't have the "dogleg" configuration that porro-prism units have. Once upon a time, porro-prism binoculars had the edge in terms of optics, but that advantage has long since disappeared. The very best binoculars in the world now are roof-prism designs. The Bushnell roof-prism is more expensive than the porro version because of optics. The Porro has close focus of 20 feet, as opposed to 10 feet for the roof-prism model. The roof model also has PC-3 phase-coated prisms to increase light transmission, while the porro model does not. Either of the Bushnell binoculars will work for astronomy. However, for astronomy use, we generally recommend Zhumell 20x80 SuperGiant binoculars. They're a great value at $149, and they're the talk of online astronomy forums like cloudynights.com. Q3: does this porro 10x50 come in camo
A: Unfortunately, Bushnell Legend 12x50 Binoculars come only in black.
