          These binoculars were purchased for my mother which she is using for casual bird watching. I have tested them myself and for the money, they are an excellent pair of binoculars. I normally use more expensive binoculars, and there is a slight difference in clarity, though the difference is not enough to deter me from using these again. Highly recommended for novice, intermediate, or casual birder.

            Q1: Soon I will be taking cruise to Alaska and would like to buy a pair of binoculars. I heard the Bushnells are very well rated. Are binoculars rated at 10 x 42 too powerful for what I am looking to use them for. I am also looking for something not to big and

            A: Bushnell Natureview 10x42 binoculars are rated quite high among economy-class binoculars. We don't think 10X magnification would be too strong at all for your purposes. You're likely to be observing from relatively long distance, and 10X should work well for you.
