Q1: hi - i am interested in finding binoculars as a gift for my dad. He will predominiantly use them when we vacation at the beach to see the ocean and the ships passing and to look at beautiul lake placid, new york in the winter. I know nothing about binoculars. Any ideas on a specific model or features? thanks, amy

A: the 7x35 are a great binocular as they will have a bright image and be very stable. the biggest magnification that i would recommend would be a 10 power but the image will not be very stable. Check the Minolta Activa 8X40 WPFP as it is an excellent all around binocular.
