Best Uses
I was impressed enough with my first pair of Alpen binoculars that when they were stolen, I came back for more. My first viewing through the new ones occurred at work where there is a tire store across the street. The service bays are fully 150 yards away from where I was standing. I looked through the binoculars and was able to read the license plates on the cars in the tire store ... and I don't mean the big numbers ... I mean the small ones !!! It was quite late in the afternoon with fading daylight yet they were fully visible and quite clear. The only issue that I have with them is that my interpupillary distance is quite large and the Shasta Ridge glasses, when adjusted to the maximum are exactly where I need them but left no room for a wider adjustment should it be needed. Fortunately, I do not need that extra distance. That is the only thing that kept my rating from consisting of 5-stars, but in spite of that, I would not hesitate to recommend these binoculars to anyone. They are top shelf.
