      I have only had these binoculars for a short time but have used them frequently for looking at the stars and moon. They really bring in the light and the focus is excellent. While slightly heavy for this use, they are not too difficult to hold steady. I plan to use them for other activities as the magnification is good and they focus well while scanning the surroundings.

      Overall the binocular is good quality product for a reasonable price. I will use these for general daytime and evening use and also astronomical use when I don't feel like dragging out my monster binoculars. The image quality is very good without any color disortion or off-center focus issues. Focus at the edge of the field seems to be in line with the focus at the center. There was no noticible distortion at the edges. Stars are not quite as sharp as with larger binoculars, but give good performance for a moderate price unit. A nice fabric neck strap is included. The only issue I have is that the rubber coating is loose on some areas of the body. It feels like it is just a bit too large and doesn't fit quite right. I would have liked to see a lens cloth included with the binocular.

      Q1: Does a case ordinarily come with the binoculars or is that an "extra" expense?

      A: All of the Nikon's come with a carrying case. This particular model comes with a soft case, objective and eye covers, and a neck strap.

      Q2: Do you carry binoculars which also take a digital photo of what is being seen?

      Q3: I understant that the Nikon 7X50 Action binocular has the objective lens multicoated. What about the rest of the lenses? How many lenses, beside the objective lens, have coatings?

      A: Nikon informs us that ALL air-to-glass surfaces have multicoatings, as do the prisms.

      Q4: What is the weight of the Nikon 7X50? - are there any that are light weight and could be carried in her purse?

      A: Nikon 7x50 Action binoculars weigh 35 ounces and measure 8.1 x 7.2 inches, so they would not be suitable for carrying in a purse. For that purpose, you might consider 8x25 SportStar black binoculars. They're small, measuring only 2.8 x 4.9 inches folded, and they weigh only about a half-pound.
