What I appreciate most is the sharpness and clarity of the animal I am watching. I am able to count points easily at long distances. Tried it out this weekend and am very satisfied. I have used more expensive binoculars and this pair is very comparable.

Comments about Nikon 7x35mm Action Ultra Wide View Binoculars:

The clear optics and wide view made nature and outdoor sports watching a pleasure. The ergonomic contour/grip and construction feels very comfortable during long periods of viewing.
I wear glasses for astigmatism and these binocs are very user-friendly focusing with the covers rolled back...with glasses and without them.

Comments about Nikon 7x35mm Action Ultra Wide View Binoculars:

I bought these for use on my golf cart. They are small and easy to use. I was pleasantly surprised to find the close focus is closer than the advertised 16 ft. These focus to just under 10 ft. Very handy for observing small things close up. I started out looking for roof prism binocs, but quickly found that any kind of quality would be more than I want to spend for something that won't be used all that often. The optics are nearly as good as my [...] 10x30 IS. Close focus on those is advertised as 13 ft, but is actually farther, more like 18 ft as measured by me. Perhaps this is variables in manufacturing?Comparing 7 power vs 10 power is a bit unfair, especially when one is image stabilized. The Nikons are brighter, as would be expected, larger objectives and lower power. They also have a feature that [...] could incorporate, a much finer center focus thread. This allows one to fine focus easier. The [...] have a coarser thread, making focusing fast, but fine focus a bit harder. Focusing from closes to infinity is a bit tedious. I've only had these Nikon binocs a few days and haven't had them out under the night sky yet, but don't figure on them supplanting my [...]16x80s. A plus is the tripod thread for mounting on a tripod adapter. I'll probably not use it much, if ever. As for daily use, the [...] are the pair I grab when I go sightseeing. That won't change. Image stabilization is fantastic. I just wish [...] could have seen a way to put some lens covers on these binocs. But this is about the Nikons, right? Ok, and Nikon supplies lens covers front and back for this model along with a padded soft case and neck strap that is much wider than [...] The BAK4 prizm sealed the deal for me. Stay away from the BAK7 prisms. I can find my golf balls now, and with style. And if someone lifts these, I'm not out as much as I would if I lost the [...]. I recommend these to anyone needing a compact size binocular with good optics, and cheap. They are small, but not as light as you might expect, at 700 grams, ~1.5 pounds. Construction seems stout, but only time will tell that tale. The edges aren't as good as the center, but who the hell is looking off to the edges of their binocs anyway?I have friends who have very expensive optics. One has [...], the other has [...], and another has the Nikon 8x42 Monarch. They are nearly as good as the [...]for much much less. For my money I'd buy the Monarchs. For the most part, it would seem the [...]binocs are 'better at the edges' than the Monarchs. The Monarchs hold their own at the center! All well and fine. When I decide to start looking at things from the edges of my optics, I'll buy them, but most of us know the laws of diminishing return. It goes like this: everything else being equal, quality is a function of price, the more you pay, the better the quality. To a point that quality raises with the dollars spent. Past that point, quality tapers off and bragging rights kick in. Whats left when the cheaper optics aren't as bad as the price comparison should indicate?
