    This product has great optics that allow sharp, crisp focusing in the entire spectrum of magnification from 7 to 15 power. While watching birds early or late in the day, the 7 power end finds the birds, and the 15 power zoom brings them right in for close viewing. Although not compact, they are also portable enough to use during geological field work.

    I used these binoculars at work throughout each day and was impressed at first as they were a better quality than my previous binoculars and the zoom created more veiwing options. 1 and half years later I am frustrated and disappointed as the internal zoom/zoom adjust has broken for the THIRD time. I admit to sitting on the binoculars the first time it broke, but since then I have handled the binoculars with great care. Nikon will repair them for $25, but with about $30 in shipping, these binoculars have been paid for twice over. For casual, light use these may be a good option. Do not consider them for frequent field use.
