I decided to try this rather obscure brand and am not disappointed. I previously had been doing my "birding" with my Swarovski 8x30's and while they are excellent, I needed more magnification for my aging eyes and I didn't want to pay the price of the Swarovski 10x42 roof prisms. I had previously tried my son-in-law's Nikon Monarch's 10x42 and was ready to buy a pair when I came across the Zhumell 10x42 during a internet search[...]They are equally as sharp as the Nikon and they focus a lot closer. My only criticism is they are a bit heavy, but worth the buy none the less.

I bought this pair of binoculars as a test. The price was right and the reviews I read where very good as well. After using them, however, I find they are very touchy to focus, realizing that they are indeed 10 power. So keeping them stable is a bit more than the 8 power I am used to. The edge clarity is not what I expected. But looking through them at a distance seemed very good. They did pick up enough light at the dusk time of day as well. I will continue to use them, but they would not by my first choice to take with me on a hunting trip. They will serve as a good back-up to my #1 pair.

Comments about Zhumell 10x42mm Signature Waterproof Binoculars:
What amazing binocs for such a small price! Five HUNDRED stars. The website says that these are full size binoculars. If so, I don't know what "compact" means. These are the perfect balance of all variables- lightweight and compact, yet wide field of view; Good magnification, but very bright; the list goes on. I don't know why people pay so much for some binoculars when they can get a pair this good so inexpensively. The eye relief is great. The first bird I looked at with them was, not surprisingly, a House Sparrow, and it was the clearest, most detailed, closest view I have ever gotten through any optics. I just looked at a transitional plumage American Goldfinch that was at our nyjer seed and saw tiny spots where individual feathers were missing from his molting process. One warning, though, and that is this: if you are very used to turning the focus knob clockwise to look at something farther away and counterclockwise to look at something closer, you might have difficulty getting used to the focus knob on these. The rotation is the opposite of what I am used to, but I was able to get used to it fairly quickly. Overall these binoculars are super and a very worthwile investment. I noticed on some reviews that people said that there were no instructions for attaching the harness. There aren't, but what is in the instruction manual is a phone number for customer service. Call this, press "3", and you will have the harness attached in no time. The people are friendly and can explain the process much better than I can.

Comments about Zhumell 10x42mm Signature Waterproof Binoculars:
We purchased this item for a trip to Costa Rica and Guatemala where we were taking bird-watching tours. They worked great for us allowing us to see at least 48 species up close. By using the binoculars we could see the wonderful colors of the birds clearly. We are total novices and were able to find the birds quickly. Focusing was not a problem at all. We even used them for some whale and porpoise watching from the cruise ship. We were impressed by the sharp, clear image. I wear bifocal glasses. I tried to keep my glasses on while viewing but found it much easier to just scoot the eyepieces up under my lenses, raising my glasses to my forehead when viewing. When I removed the binoculars my glasses would just fall back into place. Perhaps with practice, I won't need to do it that way but it was a simple, quick, and effective solution for me. In short, we are quite happy with the purchase and would recommend them to others. Also, the shipping was really quick! We got them in just 2-3 days!

Comments about Zhumell 10x42mm Signature Waterproof Binoculars:
Bought these about a year ago. We were a little apprehensive considering the deep discount and relatively low price. Much to our delight, they truly are as advertised. After using them, I would have paid twice the price. Quality is excellent. Easy to handle and carry, with or without the harness. Try them. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Q1: What is the field of view on the Zhumell 10x42 binoculars?
A: Zhumell Signature 10x42 binoculars have an FOV of 342 feet at 1,000 yards.
Q2: What is the twilight factor?
A: Twilight factor of the Zhumell 10x42 Signature binoculars is 20.49. Be careful about giving too much weight to the twilight factor, however. Twilight factor is simply the square root of the binocular's aperture times its magnification. It can tell you something about low-light performance, but it certainly doesn't tell all. Even more important is the number and quality of optical coatings. These determine how much of the light that strikes the objective lens actually makes it through to the eye.
Q3: I wear tri-focal glasses. Are these binoculars usable with glasses?
A: Zhumell 10x42 Signature binoculars have eye relief of 14.5mm. This should be just enough to use them with eyeglasses. Whether a specific individual would be able to use them with eyeglasses would depend on the person's own lens-to-pupil distance.
Q4: We are going on a safari for the first time--is this the best set for us to start with? What accessories should we order?
A: The Zhumell 10x42 Signature Waterproof Binoculars would be ideal for a safari. These binoculars already come with a case and strap, but a cleaning kit would be an excellent accessory to purchase along with these.
Q5: Are these binoculars compact size?
A: No, the Zhumell 10x42 Signature Waterproof Binoculars are a full size binocular.
