Description

Banish image-shake forever!

The more powerful the binoculars, the more hand vibrations are magnified. As a result, even a slight shake of the hands will shake the image in the binoculars significantly. Image-shake quickly becomes intolerable, and you just can't follow the action.

However, with Canon's 10x30 Image-Stabilized binoculars, you can enjoy your caffeine and still watch the game from the back row of the stadium. Canon's image-stabilized binoculars offer outstanding optics, along with excellent digital "shake suppression," so the image in your binoculars always looks steady to the eye.

High-Tech Device

At the stabilizer's heart are vertical and horizontal gyroscopes that detect motion in any direction. The amount of shake is instantly calculated by a microcomputer, and the movement is optimally counteracted, either by a set of vari-angle prisms or a tilt mechanism. In effect, the light refraction is altered so the image always is viewable, even when hands are less than steady.

Advanced Features

Moreover, these lightweight 10x30 IS binoculars are nicely contoured to fit perfectly in your hands. A textured-rubber coating provides a non-slip grip and protection from the elements. The center-mounted focus adjuster and image-stabilizer controls are easily accessible with either hand.

Best of all, Canon's 10x30 IS binoculars are affordable. That means you can buy a pair and still afford to buy tickets to your favorite events!

I have four astro telescopes up to 10 inch. These binoculars are such a delight for scanning the sky. I have had them for only a few weeks, but I am in love with them. Very convenient and wonderfully designed. My history with Canon products goes back nearly fifty years. I continue to be pleased with the quality and innovation. I am getting older, and I cannot hold binoculars as steady as I could years ago. Now it is a delight to get a steady image, which certainly increases the "effective" magnification and the pleasure of viewing!

    Good for your budget

These are ok if you are on a budget. If you can spend a few hundred more, i recommend a more powerful magnification 12 at a minimum

Comments about Canon 10x30mm IS Image Stabilized Binoculars:

We purchased these Canon's and brought them to an NFL game. Everyone in our suite was amazed by the clarity, the crispness of the image and the performance of the image stabilizer. I am confident several others from the game will be buying a pair today! Great purchase!

Comments about Canon 10x30mm IS Image Stabilized Binoculars:

I bought these after reading about them in Gary Seronik's book Binocular Highlights: 99 Celestial Sights for Binocular Users. After star gazing with them for a while I agree with Gary when he says these binoculars "deliver performance quite beyond what you might expect for binos of this size". In my opinion, these are the perfect binoculars for the budget-minded star gazer.

Comments about Canon 10x30mm IS Image Stabilized Binoculars:

I have a pair of Canon Image Stabilizer 10X30 binoculars. They were wonderful until a few years later they have now become a stickey black goopy mess. They are so bad that I can no longer use them which is a big disapointment to me. I will never purchase Canon again after this experience!

            Customer Q & A

            1 - 5 of 19
                1   2   3   4

Q1: Does the 10X30 IS model come with a case and a strap? Also, what is the exact weight of the binoculars?

A: Yes, all Canon Binoculars are shipped complete with Case and Neck Strap. These binoculars weigh 22 ounces.

Q2: When the binoculars are near vertical for star watching, does the image stabilizer still work well?

A: The image stabilization should work just fine no matter how you hold the binocular.

Q3: I am looking for the distance to bring things closer. Is this a good model for my wife who likes to look at boats, etc from far away? the numbers confuse me on the strength.

A: This is an excellent pair of binoculars for that type of use. Just to help you with magnification, etc ... The number before the X is the magnification or how many times the naked eye. The number after the X is the diameter in millimeters of the outside lens of the binocular. The stronger the magnification the shakier the image so for high magnifications (10,12,15,18 etc..) you will need a tripod unless the binocular has image stabilization like these do.

Q4: How long will the batteries last on the Canon 10x30 IS? Also, can I use rechargeable AA batteries?

A: The batteries will last approximately 20 hours but that will vary on the amount of usage and of course the colder it is the quicker they will run out of juice. Rechargeable batteries should be just fine.

Q5: Is this model suitable for nautical use?

A: Canon's 10x30 IS Image-Stabilized binocular does a great job of canceling out wave action in a boat. It is not waterproof, however. Hence for applications in which a binocular is likely to take a dunking, we'd recommend Canon's 10x42L IS WP waterproof binoculars.
