  • Super Powerful Binoculars for Land and Sky
  • Excellent customer reviews for this top seller
  • Extra-large field of view with crystal clarity
  • Easy center focus and right diopter for fine tuning
Description

High power, low weight!

Other high-power binoculars may have excellent optics, but they can also be, quite literally, a pain in the neck. The Zhumell 20x80 SuperGiants, though, weigh in at just 4.4 pounds, light enough to use comfortably in the field. Still, they are equipped with an integrated tripod mount for use with any standard photographic tripod. That's just in case you don't feel like holding onto your binoculars all the time.

High-Performance Features

  • Extra-large field of view with crystal clarity from edge to edge
  • BaK4 prisms for excellent light transmission
  • Fully multi-coated optics
  • Ultra-smooth center focus that's easy to operate, allowing you to pinpoint your subject
  • Right diopter adjustment so you can fine-tune your viewing

Most impressive, though, is the sheer size of the 20x80 SuperGiants. The 80mm objective lens diameter is huge. In fact, you won't find many larger, and definitely not in the Zhumell's price range. Interpupillary distance adjusts from 2.25 inches to 2.75 inches.

Once you try these big binoculars for astronomical or terrestrial viewing, you won't want to go back to anything smaller. And, given all the Zhumell's advantages, there's simply no reason you'd have to.

My Zhumell 20x80's arrived "out of collimation". (In the real world things like this will happen once in a while). I was advised by Hayneedle staff that a replacement pair would be sent. I was also advised that there were adjustment screws on the binoculars. (The tech documentation from Zhumell did not mention these adjustments, but they are there, under the rubberized coating if you know where to look). Anyway I was able to adjust the collimation and these babies work great! These folks will do the right thing if you have a problem with the product. Good experience! Good binoculars. Advise getting the tripod for really good viewing. We use them for tracking objects in earth orbit for the collection of positional and photometric data.

Product arrived ontime, focus is a bit difficult. During daytime the optics seem good, however when trying to view nightime sky, it is obvious that the optics were slightly misaligned. Everything was a light double vision. At firts I thought it was just me, but 3 others tried and had the same problem.[...] They were mounted on a HD pro tripod and had zero vibration. Using one eye at the time, the view was great, but if I wanted to close one eye to view, I'd havebought a telescope. [...] I will be reordering, but will likely go with 10x50 instead so that a tripod is not mandatory.

Comments about Zhumell 20x80mm SuperGiant Astronomical Binoculars:

I bought these to take to Maui with us and do some whale watching from our condo balcony. May also keep an eye on the local beach attractions. They are big & heavy but I knew that when I bought them so no surprise. I bought a tripod to take with to hold them steady. They focused prefectly out of the box and so far no complaints.

Comments about Zhumell 20x80mm SuperGiant Astronomical Binoculars:

The binoculars came well packed and arrived in perfect condition. I had to collimate mine, but this is very simple to do and should not deter anyone from buying these. Images are sharp and clear. All four moons around Jupiter were visible. Even a few deep sky clusters and Neb's can be seen. You will need a sturdy tripod to enjoy thses. Hayneedle customer service was awesome when I ordered these. They shipped very fast. I will definitely be a Telescopes.com customer for a long time.

        Customer Q & A
        1 - 5 of 18
            1   2   3   4

Q1: Is it only celestial or both a terrestrial and celestial binocular?

A: This binocular is sold as a astronomy binocular because it's magnification is very powerful at 20x, but it can be used for terrestrial applications as well.

Q2: What is the maximum width at the eyepieces between the center of the lenses?

A: The maximum distance between the eyepieces is 2 7/8 inches.

Q3: Are the craters on the moon visible with these binoculars?

A: Yes, and quite a bit more.

Q4: Are these binoculars multi-coated? What kind of case comes with them? Are the lenses glass or plastic?

A: The lenses are glass, it comes with a hard case and yes, they are multi-coated.

Q5: Are these binoculars hand held or must they be used with a tripod, or both?

A: You can use them as hand held but it will not be the easiest we recommend that you use them with a tripod.
