Description

Most binocular straps either have no lens protection at all or have a large, unwieldy storage container that offers no attachment or tether while optics are in use.  The LockDown provides the best of both worlds using a pliable cover for a low profile fit and ShockCord Security Straps that fasten your optics for maximum security.

 

Tension Free Glassing

This allows you to draw your binoculars to your face with a single motion.  The 50-50 pre-load design utilizes the ShockCord Security strap for maximum protection during storage while being completely free of load during use.

 

Anti-Bounce Technology

Safely secures binoculars to your chest without permitting the movement or bounce associated with traditional harness designs.  You can move freely, bend over or even crouch without your binoculars moving around or becoming uncomfortable.

 

Moldable Security Cover

Protects a wide variety of optics.  The laminated design features scratch resistant materials inside, an aluminum core for memory and a durable noise resistant fabric for the exterior.

 

Streamlined Straps

These straps are lightweight, silent and designed to be compatible with backpacks

 

Multiple Adjustments

      This is a GREAT idea that is not quite perfected yet, especially if you want to use it for hunting along with wearing a backpack. Purchased it for my Minox BV 10x42 binos, and they just barely fit under the upper cover. The tensioning system gets all bunched up at top of shoulders, making it uncomfortable to have a hunting pack over it for any length of time. Also, the rivets under the top cover rub against the focus knob; a probable bad wear spot. Tension-free viewing is nice idea but not totally 'free', as is the snug fit to chest while testing it on a jog; but would want better side-to-side cover over top of more bino models, and want to see a better design where all the adjustment bunches up at the base of your neck when wearing it (this is the biggest failure of the product, imho). The waist-cinch buckles are bulky, too. May keep it, but leaning toward returning it with comments and hopes that S4Gear comes up with an improved model before next elk season.

            This is an excellent product. If there's a downside, it's that the size might not be big enough for large binos. Canon 18x50 fits lengthwise - just - but the material covers neither the objectives nor the eyepieces completely. The material is about 4.5" wide at the top, about 5" at the bottom. If you have large porro prism binos, it's probably too narrow.
            Also: the provided fasteners for the shock cords are rings (wouldn't go over the lugs on my binos) or zip ties - very small ones at that. I wish they'd come up with something better.
